Our Program
At Brooklyn Beans, our programs are designed to give children a safe, engaging, and supportive place to learn, play, and grow after school. We take a whole-child approach that balances enrichment, movement, creativity, social-emotional development, and academic support so that each afternoon feels meaningful and welcoming.
Our philosophy is to provide meaningful and engaging activities for our students each and every day, striving to create an environment where students can come after school and feel at home.
Child-Centered Learning
Our programming is shaped by the interests of the children and families we serve. We believe children thrive when they are encouraged to explore their curiosity and take an active role in experiences that feel meaningful to them. By listening closely to our community, we create activities that are rooted in what matters most to our students.
Indoor and Outdoor Play
Physical activity and play are an important part of every child’s development. Brooklyn Beans provides daily opportunities for children to stay active through outdoor play, group games, and free-play experiences. With access to the PS 39 playground and yard, as well as the spacious Camp Friendship Gym, students are able to move, build confidence, and enjoy healthy social interaction throughout the afternoon.
Enrichments Opportunities
We offer a variety of enriching experiences that help children discover new interests, build skills, and express their creativity. Our enrichment offerings are designed to reflect the interests of the students we serve and provide opportunities for exploration, learning, and fun. Additional details about specific enrichment opportunities can be found under the Enrichments tab.
Caring and Experienced Staff
Our staff members bring training, experience, and a deep commitment to supporting children in a positive and nurturing environment. They work to create a space where students feel encouraged, respected, and empowered to try new things, build relationships, and grow in confidence.
Age Appropriate Programming
Brooklyn Beans is committed to providing programming that grows alongside children. Activities and projects are thoughtfully developed to reflect the interests and developmental stages of each age group, helping ensure that every child has an experience that feels both supportive and engaging.
Academic and School Support
We understand that after-school hours can also be an important time for students to stay on track academically. Brooklyn Beans provides dedicated time and space for schoolwork, along with access to staff support in a quiet environment where children can focus, complete assignments, and build strong learning habits.
Flexible Access Options
We believe families benefit from after-school support that is responsive to their real lives and schedules. Our flexible attendance options, including the 10-Day Flex Pack, help make it easier for children to access a safe, enriching, and engaging after-school environment throughout the school year.

At Brooklyn Beans, it is our goal to provide flexible programming for parents. For this reason, we are introducing the 10-Day Flex Pack. The 10-Day Flex Pack allows parents to select any 10 days within the school year to drop their child off at after-school. All we require from you is a minimum of 48 hour notice, and we will take care of the rest!
