Amazing Athletes: Multi-Sport

Description: Through positive movement experiences with a focus on meeting their motor-development milestones, licensed instructors teach the fundamentals of at least three different sports in a non-competitive environment. They also incorporate lessons about nutrition and muscle groups to enhance motor skills and physical literacy.

Description: As budding ceramic artists, students will be working in both two and three-dimensional forms. Using a wide range of hand-building techniques like pinching, coiling, and slab assembly to create free-standing objects and functional items (they can actually use!). All these projects are taken back to our studio and fired on our kiln. This class is sure to help mold your child's creativity!

Description: This ancient martial art provides physical fitness and self-defense in a fun and disciplined way. Each class focuses on strength, stamina, balance, and speed. Children build confidence, discipline, and self respect. Most importantly, students will use karate as a platform for personal growth and development.

Description: Students unleash their imaginations and tap into their intrinsic sense of play in this vibrant theater class. Literature is used as a springboard to act out favorite characters and engage in rich imaginative exercises: They soar into magical realms, embark on ocean voyages and make heroic animal rescues. Theater games, improv, and sophisticated dramatic play support learning and meaningful connections with their peers. Best of all, these classes help young children explore empathy, literacy and boost their self-esteem in a fun, joyful environment.

Description: As patience and fine motor skills continue to grow, we’re able to introduce a more challenging version of our signature robot-building classes for older students. The robots get more complicated and the opportunity for creativity becomes even greater. Experienced Inventors are encouraged to experiment and create their own projects with the materials.

Enrichment classes are offered on-site during the after school day. Students enrolled in enrichments will separate from the general after school class and organize with their class for the duration of their specific enrichment. Enrichment classes are located in PS39 classrooms or at the Camp Friendship Gym. Following the class, students return to regular after school activities, including outdoor yard time and free play or organized games in PS39 classrooms. Afterschool hours with enrichments remain the same- 2:40-6:00PM.
Enrichment classes are provided by local childhood enrichment specialists. Vendors include Park Slope United, Chess At Three, Private Picassos, and more. In addition to the specially trained enrichment providers, a Brooklyn Beans staff member, familiar with the students and space, will be overseeing to ensure all children’s needs are met.
Enrichments are offered as an add-on with an additional fee. Separate registration is required. Enrichment classes are capped at 10-20 students per class. Enrollment is held on a first come, first served basis.

Enrichment classes are currently only offered to students registered for the After School Session. Please ensure the enrichment you are signing up for is on the same day your child is enrolled.

Cancellation requests submitted after registration closes will incur a fee according to the following schedule:
Prior to the week before the after-school session, enrichment classes can be canceled at no cost .
25% of the enrichment tuition will be forfeited if the cancellation request is submitted one week before or within the first week of the session.
50% of the enrichment tuition will be forfeited if the cancellation request is submitted within the second week of the session.
100% of the enrichment tuition will be forfeited if the cancellation request is submitted after the start of the third week of session.
